Sorry further to my previous e-mail I don't think that the method proposed
will work as all session_id() will do is rename the session and not create a
new one.
The problem being that IE is looking to see if a valid session cookie is
available and it is so it resumes the session on session_start() instead of
creating a new one.
You could get around this by ether stopping php from storing the session ID
in a cookie and then manually passing the SID, this can be done by changing
php session settings in the php.ini to stop the storage of a cookie in all
instances or by manually overwriting the cookie variable with rubbish.
I apologise for my stupidity.
