If I go to a page using a new socket, the variables are passed, but the
setcookie() does not work. Here is a snippet of the code I use to go to
a page, "submitexam.php". It works, but if I use the same code at the
top of "submitexam.php" for setting the cookie, the cookie is not set.

$http = new http;
$fp = $http->http_fpost("210.222.172.137", $path . "submitexam.php",
"ex_name=R+Todd+Jones");
if($fp) {
print '<BASE HREF="' . $url . 'submitexam.php"><p>';
fpassthru($fp);
exit;
};
