Cynic -
I did not quite explain it clearly. Let's say I have two pages: Sender
and Receiver. On the Receiver page I have
$pu_ssn = $HTTP_GET_VARS[pu_ssn];
setcookie("ssn", $pu_ssn, time() + (60 * 60 * 24 * 30));
So far, so good. Now I have two ways of "sending" the data:
1) Use the conventional <Form Ation="Receiver.php" Method="Post"
Name="SubmitExam"> with the Submit button. This works. That is, a
cookie is set from the Receiver page.
2) Use a socket to send the data. The surfer never presses a button -
the PHP code sends the data. When I use this method, the data *is* sent
*but* the cookie is *not* set. *And* no error messages.
