erm, how about
cat'? I love cats, really, they are cute. Then, cat' is damn
fast, you know. XEmacs takes ages to load, meanwhile I already wrote lines of
code with cat, duh ;)
as for assembly, it's a good start in understanding PHP, really. Start from
the bottom.
I loved a sig I sow once about nice GUIs -- they are simple to do simple
things, cause for complex things you need a more complex tool, like vim or
emacs (the clasical examples.)
