I'm not saying java isn't a perfectly good solution for certain things. I
just haven't had any good experiences with it on the web. I've found that
it is very slow. Keep in mind I'm not really talking about enterprise type
applications. If you had a very beefy server for your Java app, you could
probably get it to run pretty fast, but for smaller sized applications with
limited system resources, java just doesn't hack it. I'm not trying to
advocate ASP either. It's just the lesser of two evils in my mind. I'm for
PHP all the way and would never wish ASP on anyone.
