Get a copy of RFC 821 and RFC 822. They aren't long, and worth the time you
spend reading them if you're messing about with e-mail. To answer your
question off the top of my head I'd say "-", ".", and "@" in
addition to
alphabet and numerals. A "," can be used to separate addresses.
