No '-t'? Try setting it to '/usr/lib/sendmail -t' like the popen() in your
second example. e.g:
$MP = "/usr/lib/sendmail -t ";
Here's what the man page has to say about the '-t' option.
"...
-t Read message for recipients. To:, Cc:, and Bcc: lines will
be scanned for recipient addresses. The Bcc: line will be
deleted before transmission.
..."
BTW, both you original code snippets work on my machine - if the above
doesn't work then I suggest looking at your sendmail config and whether
you're getting a mail loop.
