Well, these things index via HTTP. So you do need to have links to your data. Since most of the sites I do are dynamic, I tend to have a special start url for the text search engine. For example, if I am trying to index a database full of products, then I will make a special page that just contains links to every single product in the database. Point the search engine at that page and it will visit every link and index the data it finds. -Rasmus On Thu, 27 Jul 2000, Ben Heuer wrote: > Just wondering, for all these search engines, you have to create a DIFFERENT > set of data - I mean if I already have a database with products, > manufacturers etc..I have to write my own functions right?
