Andrew, That's a bold statement you made there, and I'm sure that a lot of people would like to disagree with you. I recently saw a statement made by a MySQL developer stating that MySQL is one of the fastest SQL Databases in the world. If you do know of a faster one then I'm sure that we would all love to see what it can do. I am attempting to prove many differences between certain web applications running on either Unix based platforms or Windows NT based platforms. Comparing cost of ownership, reliability and performance. The tests will involve standard software installations running on exactly the same hardware. I will be testing low specification machines as well as high performance machines. Initially I will be comparing MS-SQL & ASP against MySQL & PHP. I intend to test Postgres SQL and will of course test the software contained in www.openlinksw.com/virtuoso as soon as I can connect to their web site.
