What I've ended up doing: (assuming c:\php4 and c:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache)
1. Install and test apache
2. In the directory where Apache.exe is: MKDIR bak then copy all the files
in the apache directory to the bak directory-> copy . bak
3. Install PHP in c:\php4 and edit php.ini-dist fix the paths "includes" as
in ".;c:/php4/pear" and extentions extension_dir = "c:/php4/extensions" then
save as php.ini
4. Copy php.ini to the apache directory: c:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache
5. Copy c:\php4\sapi\php4apache.dll c:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache
6. Copy c:\php4\php4ts.* c:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache
In srm.conf add:
LoadModule php4_module php4apache.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
Why? When apache.exe loads it loads whatever is in the LoadModule directive,
if something is loaded and needs to load .DLL's then:
First the directory where the exe was loaded from is searched, then the path
is searched which means you could wait for a while. Having the support
.DLL's in the same directory as the exe means there is no search and it
makes updating a breeze, delete c:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\. then
copy c:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\bak c:\Program Files\Apache
Group\Apache then update php.
The c:\php4 is for PEAR, great concept but the installer likes c:\php4
As you add modules they might require support .DLL's, like explat.dll, copy
the *.dll to the apache directy.

I FORGOT TO MENTION THE VERSION!!
php-4.3.1-Win32.zip
apache_1.3.27-win32-x86-no_src.msi
AND I've tried to implement it as was suggested by Oleg:
php4apache.dll
php4isapi.dll
php4ts.dll
copy this files to "modules" dir in the apache dir.
httpd.conf
LoadModule php4_module modules/php4apache.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
BUT IT DIDN'T WORK..:-((
//**************************************************************************
*********************8
Simple install is not working for me.
System credentials:
P4 1.5Ghz
RAM 256MB
30GB of Free HD Space
WinXP Professional
I just d/l Apachi, PHP and mySQL
I installed Apachi and tested it with the 'test configuration' utility and
it is producing 'Syntax OK' msg.
PHP is set to c:\php
I copied:
php4apache.dll
php4isapi.dll
php4ts.dll
php.ini
to: C:\WINDOWS\system32
Here is a part of the httpd.conf of Apachi (I included few lines from above
and below the code so
you can tell where it is located in the file). I made two separate entry
locations:
HERE IS THE FIRST LOCATION:
AddModule mod_so.c
AddModule mod_setenvif.c
#ALON SOLELL
LoadModule php4_module C:\WINDOWS\system32\php4apache.dll
#
# ExtendedStatus controls whether Apache will generate "full" status
# information (ExtendedStatus On) or just basic information (ExtendedStatus
# Off) when the "server-status" handler is called. The default is Off.
#
#ExtendedStatus On
HERE IS THE SECOND LOCATION:
#
# To use server-parsed HTML files
#
#AddType text/html .shtml
#AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
# ALON SOLELL
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
#
# Uncomment the following line to enable Apache's send-asis HTTP file
# feature
#
#AddHandler send-as-is asis
The problem that I encounter is:
http://localhost/0info.php
is producing the acutal code:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>and does not show the PHP Credentials.
I have not made any changes to php.in as of yet.
I'm lost on anything beyond that. Please help me to get this thing going.
Thanks,
-Alon.
