Thanks, I'm not a CGI guy. Didn't really think that was needed. Now that the ISAPI
module has
been added in 4.0.4, its real tricky to get all this correct, especially if you try to go one way,
it
doesn't work, and you switch to the other method.
So, before adding the line, I get:
1) browser HTTP 500 Internal Server Error msg
2) Error log written: c:/inetpub/scripts/php/a.php is not executable; ensure interpreted scripts
have "#!" first line
So, I add the line
#!c:/inetpub/scripts/php/php.exe
and now I get
1) same browser msg
2) Error log written: Premature end of script headers: c:/inetpub/scripts/php/a.php

ya, I believe you.
I guess I'm REAL CLOSE to re-installing Windows on this machine. I just did it a few weeks
ago, so I won't lose too much.

the line you mention is directly out of the documentation. But here's my lines from my
installed
.CONF
Alias /scripts/ "C:/inetpub/scripts/"
<Directory "C:/inetpub/scripts">
Options Execcgi
</Directory>
ScriptAlias /php4/ "C:/inetpub/scripts/php/"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Action application/x-httpd-php "c:/inetpub/scripts/php/php.exe"
I've added the ALIAS because of another app that has stuff in my /scripts/ directory.
So, at present, I can use either of these URLS:
1) http://localhost/php4/a.php -- gets the server error
2) http://localhost/scripts/php/a.php -- http 400
bad request - the Error log: Invalid URI in
request GET /scripts/php/a.php HTTP/1.1
thx,
jaymer...
