Christian / Mailing List:
Thank you for the info. When you refer to "php directory" (to add
php.ini), do you mean the /usr/local/lib/php directory, and I only edit
in the line you are saying here? I did this, and it appears to have an
effect on the problem, but now a new error message. I added / edited
the following lines in /usr/local/lib/php.ini, and copied that file to
/usr/local/lib/php:
include_path = /usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/include/php
php_include_path = /usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/include/php
Now the error message I am getting in the browser changes to:
Warning: Failed opening '/opt/apache/htdocs/test.php' for inclusion
(include_path='/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/include/php') in Unknown on
line 0
There really doesn't seem to be one specific "php" directory (unless you
are referring to the /usr/local/lib/php directory). Am I maybe missing
something? Earlier, when I was trying to trouble-shooting my install, I
saw the following directions in the {PHP Source}/tests/README file:
To run the tests, go to the top-level directory and
run "./php -f run-tests.php"
I ran a "find" throughout my entire machine, and found no executable
called "php", only those two directories called /usr/local/include/php,
/usr/local/lib/php and the following executables in /usr/local/bin:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 282 Oct 7 23:32 pear*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 464 Oct 7 23:32 php-config*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 593 Oct 7 23:32 phpextdist*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 700 Oct 7 23:32 phpize*
Thanks in advance for any info you can offer.
