PHP Install Mailing List: I am trying to install PHP 4.0 into my HP-UX 11 Apache Servers here. I currently use Perl CGI scripts, with calls to my databases with much success. Would like to compare PHP to this. Am running into no problems installing, but get error message: Warning: Failed opening '/opt/apache/htdocs/1-1.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0 when trying to access php pages from my browser. Any input is welcome (detail follows). My Install: I followed the generic PHP installation instructions from the php.net on-line manual. I use mod_perl, so I combined those instructions with what I currently do to setup my current servers (new server config). I use gcc to compile and have installed any other tools needed (flex, etc...). I ran the following: mod_perl Apache 1.24 Source tree: > perl Makefile.PL APACHE_SRC=../apache_1.3.X/src \ DO_HTTPD=1 USE_APACI=1 \ EVERYTHING=1 Apache 1.3.12 source tree: > ./configure --prefix=/opt/apache PHP 4.0.2 source tree: > ./configure --with-sybase={Path to $SYBASE} --with-apache=../apache_1.3.x --enable-track-vars > make > make install Apache 1.3.12 source tree: > ./configure --prefix=/opt/apache --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a \ --activate-module={PATH to mod_perl source}/src/modules/perl/libperl.a I get no compiler errors, and the final Apache build tells me the server was built successfully. The listing of "httpd -l" (listing Apache modules) shows mod_php4.c (as well as mod_perl.c). I uncomment the line(s) in httpd.conf in order to allow the server to recognize .php files as "PHP4", and I copy php.ini-dist to /usr/local/lib/php.ini. All seems OK, until I try to run a simple test PHP script in my browser (Netscape / IE). I see the message: Warning: Failed opening '/opt/apache/htdocs/test.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0 HP-UX is pretty much a System V system, and I try to stay away from "/usr/local" whenever possible. I see that the PHP install puts executables into /usr/local/bin, and creates /usr/local/lib/php and /usr/local/include. I added /usr/local/bin to $PATH, but am wondering whether I need to do more to get other "non-HP-UX" libraries / includes to be recognized via Apache. - Joe Pantera -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= - Joseph F.
