Right. The specification is a general motivation for 5.7 for me, actually. By specifying PHP we spot
a lot of things that need fixing, and 5.7 is a good time to fix them or note that we’re going to
fix them. That means we don’t have these loose ends lying around as specified behaviour for two or
three years. It could also be the first version of PHP which would have the official specification
and implementation released at the same time, I hope. :)
