I had posted in the past the following to compile htdig under RH9.
CXXFLAGS=-Wno-deprecated CPPFLAGS=-Wno-deprecated \
../configure --prefix=/usr/local/htdig
--with-cgi-bin-dir=/usr/local/htdig/bin \
--with-image-dir=/usr/local/htdig/gifs --with-image-url-prefix=/images \
--with-search-dir=/usr/local/htdig/conf
I had compile problems with htdig 3.2.0 even with the above command.
Instead I used 3.1.6 and everything works great.
Also I had another mistake...
By default when you compile apache it creates an alias /manual for the
user pages in httpd.conf.
Php.net stores its manual pages under /manual and I hadn't noticed that.
So the indexer would fail after a while.
Removed the alias from httpd.conf and the indexer works great after that
time.
I'm actually using htdig only for the mirror but for the company's
webpage I use mnogo which I find much better.
Goba mentioned it also that it is a lot better than htdig but we need
somebody that will post some sort instructions on how to make it work
with php.net (it shouldn't be very hard I guess)

Spyros
