This would be > especially useful if all mirror sites provide the same functionality (via > MySQL replication). finding ways to encourage more people to use the mirrors would be a good thing, i think. making www.php.net simply be a site that bounces people to other mirrors is an interesting idea. we should probably boost the recognition of mirrors a bit, too. what about moving the 'mirror provided by' stuff to the top of the page instead of the (rather useless, imho) current date? i think cutting out the mirror selection dropdown (and just providing a more prominent link to the mirrors page) would make sense, too. right now that dropdown adds 5k of extra weight on every page that i suspect rarely gets used. jim
