I think this could be a pretty useful class, especially if the feature to write directly from the database is implemented. I think a lot of people would want to export data from their website, and excel is a widely used format.
Exporting data to PDF (even better, being able to subsitute variables in a pdf file with values, much like a template system) would be much cooler, but really hard, if not impossible to implement (is this spelled correctly?).

Hi, I already tried to contribute this classes 2 months ago, but without success. So here it is again: It's a group of PEAR classes for generating Excel files, based on the Spreadsheet::WriteExcel CPAN module by John McNamara. It features: -Support for all the basic values for cells (strings, numbers, URL's) -Formating of cells (color, width, height, etc..) -Support for fomulas -Images (bmp) -And a lot of other stuff. Here is the link (phpclasses site): http://psbweb.mirrors.phpclasses.org/browse.html/package/767.html There is a link to the phpdoc generated documentation there, but if you want to browse it online here is another link: http://www.dcc.uchile.cl/~xnoguer/Spreadsheet_Excel/ Future plans: -Do some more work in the documentation: add examples, and generate peardoc documentation (I'm currently working on that). -Add class for writing database data directly to a spreadsheet (using PEAR::DB or MDB I guess).
