Hi,
I'm writing a group of PEAR classes for generating Excel files, based on the
Spreadsheet::WriteExcel CPAN module by John McNamara. It's currently working,
although still missing some features:
- Several minor functions for setting spreadsheets and Excel formats
attributes. This I plan to implement in the next few days.
- No support for images inside Excel files.
- No support for urls.
- No support for formulas. In the Perl original this depends on the
Parse::RecDescent module, also from CPAN, and I haven't seen something
similar for PHP yet.
- Still lacking some PEAR compliance. This is half way through and shouldn't
take too long, but as long as there are things not yet translated inside the
code, there will be comented Perl code.
I noticed there is already a class intended for this in CVS (being written
by Mika Tuupola), but as far as I can tell it's not yet working (I tested it
with StarOffice 5.2), and doesn't have the advantage of following the exact
same class hierarchy of Spreadsheet::WriteExcel (at least I consider it to be
an advantage).
The code and a small test script are available at:
http://www.dcc.uchile.cl/~xnoguer/Spreadsheet_Excel/
Is there any chance it could get into CVS? and if so, what steps should I
follow for it to make it there?
