It's really intersting to us, as we work on a full blown enterprise management
system in POS substystem is a simple CLI PHP script which runs on a tiny
embedded Linux and can now talk natively with pos printers, pos displays and
other software.
Main software admin is a PHP Gtk solution and a backend running our Extended
Storage Manager (XStore) repository is common.
AXIS has a very nice C client library, which was wrapped in a PHP class. As
the client returns a bunch of data, we can interact with AXIS quite easily.
Communication with database uses XStore abstract model.
