And how, prey tell, does someone find that from pear.php.net/manual/en? It seems like you have a much more complete manual there than is the official one on pear.php.net. However, harried software developers will not be googling for other PEAR manuals, nor subscribing to all of the PEAR development lists (and hence knowing that the build process on pear.php.net is FUBAR for reasons I can't fathom). They will simply say "PEAR doesn't have what I need" and go and roll their own. This is not really anybodys 'fault' - peardoc2 is currently queue'd up to be built on pear.php.net, however it is in the queue behind the core php manual - which is taking about 9 hours to build each language (eg. 3 languages a day). At that rate, It is likely to be built about every 2 weeks. (I think It's about 2-3 more days from completing the phpdoc build at present). - and if there are any errors in the build, you have to wait 2 weeks to try again!! (AFAIK)
There are some issues with performance of the PHP build system/hardware etc., this is being worked on - but remember unfortunatly nobody is getting paid to do this.. Regards Alan
