"to having a new additional maintainer for PEAR::Date."
+1 : Last release in Oct 2002 seems a long time...
Current stable version 1.3 contains a bug on the constructor:
$DOB=new Date('1969-08-12');
// returns January 1 1970 00:00:00 (start of Unix Epoch time)
I have sent a proposed fix to Baba a few months ago, but still waiting
for a release.
I have been working on a modified version of PEAR::Date which I have
added some useful features (that do not restrict to Epoch time):
$tDiff = Date::Diff($Date1, $Date2, $timeUnitType='s');
$Date2 = Date::Add($Date1, $timeUnit, $timeUnitType='s');
$myAge = Date::getAge($DOB=false);
Is there anyone working on a similar methods above? If not, I wish to
submit an update of my code to PEAR.
Also, I wish to propose the current format() method to support the
similar format characters as the core PHP Date() function.
My best regards,
Joe Lee,

Subject: [PEAR-DEV] PEAR::Date
Hi,
I know we have had this before but we seriously need a new addtionak
maintainer for PEAR::Date.
Therefore I propose:
1) vote on if we will infact add a new additional maintainer
2) if yes people can step up to take the position and we will then
quickly vote on who will become the new maintainer.
Since we don't have a formal voting system in place I suggest we just
start the voting and hopefully things are obvious enough that we don't
need a lengthy debate as to how many votes of what type are required...
Anyways +1 from me to having a new additional maintainer for PEAR::Date.

Lukas Smith
