And perhaps Apache could be extended to contain PostgreSQL.
I don't think it would be a compromise, let alone a good one.
1. The relationships between tools and tasks should ideally be 1:1.
The more specialized a tool is the better it can be in doing its
job.
2. There's nothing wrong with using programs written in languages
other than PHP. Fanatism isn't the best thing under the sun.
3. Don't reinvent the wheel when it's not necessary. I understand
from previous posts that the tools are mature, so why not use them?
