Hi,
Just released 0.3, addresses the license problem and a few other subtle issues in the PEAR_Common. It now adds a DOCTYPE, and strips some newlines in the changelog release notes that the PEAR_Common xml parser adds.
let me know if it works for you now :)

what about the license tag problems? On Tue, 2003-07-22 at 19:14, Greg Beaver wrote:Hi, I use the PEAR_Common->infoFromString() to extract the file contents, and it removes the DOCTYPE completely. Should I open a bug on this, Martin, or is there a way to preserve it when using PEAR_Common->xmlFromInfo()? But I found 3 strange behaviors: license in the option array is not fully used, 1. in the current release the license tag is not touched at all, so if there is a license tag is will be the same value whatever it was. 2. the license tag is always removed from package scope, I had the license tag after the package description, its gone. 3. in the changelog section the license tag is removed from an older release, but the license tag _is_ written for the new changelog. so far I could only find problems with the license tag, everything else worked fine, except some cosmetic things (wrapping the XML tags around...)
