Well, what would such a "non-official.pear" be useful? If the classes
are useful I can't see why they should be integrated into pear.
If, as you say, there are / were useful classes that didn't make it
into pear nor were integrated in a way into other sources I doubt
that the decision of the pear-maintainers was right in every way.
As I see it, if you open a "non-official"-repository what would be
the use? A diverison into "pear1" and "pear2" or whatever. Without
any benefit for both sides.
Maybe some people should think over their decisions now that such
"unfair" thoughts apear.
