I agree with you in most points, except that this is totally different to
Stream_Var:
1. Stream_Var got 6 +1s
2. Stream_Var is clean code that follows PEAR CS, if you need a stream
wrapper for variables (and some people expressed that they needed one) this
is a clean way to do it.
The only thing I messed up with Stream_Var is that I should have waited more
than 24 hours before releasing the package, to enforce this, it should be
included on the website. I followed all rules that are described there.
