Hi Stephan,
This would be PERFECT for the peardoc2 converter of phpDocumentor. Output now looks like a monkey formatted it, unfortunately.
I will vote for this when you propose the vote. A few small notes:
typos:
/**
* @param string $newFile filename for beautified XML file (if noen is given, the original file is overwritetn)*/ function formatFile($file, $newFile = null) I really like the apiVersion() method - can we make this a requirement for new pear packages and new releases of current packages? I think the code is splendid after a cursory review. Greg Stephan Schmidt wrote:
Hi, Again I'd like to propose a new package for my favourite category: XML_Beautifier. This package helps you with XML files that have been generated by an application that does not care about how the files look. XML_Beautifier adds linebreaks, indentation and other nice things to _any_ XML file or string. You can define how you want to format your XML documents by supplying several options. You will find sourcecode, examples, API doc and a installable package at: http://www.php-tools.de/PEAR/XML_Beautifier/ If you want to install it directly, do so with: pear install http://www.php-tools.de/PEAR/XML_Beautifier/XML_Beautifier-0.1.tgz Awaiting your comments. BTW: Of course I will add more features in future versions. Stephan --- Stephan Schmidt schst@php-tools.net http://pear.php.net/user/schst
