I'd be happy to consider this a well thought-out opinion if you provide some evidence that you've read the RFCs and considered the problems.
we could use MDB/2, possibly, but it would mean the following:
MDB 1.x (this cannot be changed for obvious reasons - the package already exists)
MDB.php
classname MDB
MDB 2.x
MDB/2/MDB.php
classname MDB_2_MDB?
Is this better than MDB2.php classname MDB2?
I provided an example using PHPUnit to describe why the postfix of a number is a viable, logical option.
Can you provide a detailed example of why PHPUnit/2 would be a better option?
