personally:
cvs co :pserver:{your_password}@cvs.php.net:/repository co pear
cd pear
mkdir my_project
cp {myfiles} my_project
cvs add my_project
cd my_project
cvs add *
cd ..
cvs commit -m 'adding my_project' my_project
(it's a bit wastefull getting all of pear, but it's handy sometimes to do patches and stuff.)

Alan

I have been searching around and can't seem to find any documentation on what steps to take. Do I import a new package into the cvs tree, or do I have to checkout the entire tree and add a new directory? Can someone point me in the right direction, I have been using CVS for a few years now, but am not sure how to start out here?Just make a directory pear/ on your local disk, your package name below, and then simply add and check-in pear/<package_name>/. So magic behind it :-) And you can easily control everything went right by usign http://cvs.php.net/ Hope that helps, Stefan
