I'm not talking about the harddisk space. What I'm talking about is how
all of this will work, as I don't think this discussion happened before.
Another thing is the problem of the contributors. I think it is a fair
assumption to believe that most non-CVS PEAR authors that want to add
their classes to the pear.php.net repository will not want to spent the
extra effort to learn how to document stuff in our Dockbook standard if
they already have something in plain HTML, or TXT (or whatever format they
may choose).
This is why I'm suggesting storing in the /manual only the documentation
of the 'PEAR Foundation Classes', and leave to the contributors to their
own choice of documentation.
IMO a simple link from the pear.php.net 'detail' class page to the
author's site documentation is a good idea. I would much rather have
everything in one place, without having to worry if the author's ISP is
having problems or whatever. Why can't this be hosted on pear.php.net
also?
