flyer

Hi, PHP and more specifically PEAR and PECL will be well represented in the LAMP area at the LinuxTag in Karlsruhe in a few weeks. The question now is if we want to create a flyer for that event. Maybe this can even become a generic flyer we can update every year. The question is also if we want to have a join flyer with PECL or not. This is why I also included pecl-dev in my mail. I hope you guys can cope with the pear-dev traffic you will get this way :-) I hate paper flyers as they just end up in the trash too easily with all the other crap people collect and never read. While chatting with Georg Richter about this today he suggested a postcard format. I dont know how much it would be but I think that might be the ideal format. It would force us to a fairly compact message though :-) I could see something like: PEAR Logo 2-3 sentences about pear website link (summary of) all categories download statistics All of this would be done in the pear colors. The flip side could contain the same for PECL just in their colors. I think this flyer would really stand out. I currently have no idea on pricing or timeframe. So I dont know how far the 144 Euros will get us and even if we feel its a worthwhile cause (for simplicitlies sake I would say the current funds are at the disgression of the group since it was the group who earned it, once (if) we start getting funds through multiple sources we should formalize things a bit more). But since there are people from all over the place coming to LinuxTag we could maybe print a ton of flyers extra (with a lifetime until the first conferences next year) and everybody could take some home, who plans to attent any of the other conferences this year.
