IMHO that's a great idea - seems like the perfect occasion to do this! And to those who think that only PHP4-compatible packages should be allowed in PEAR, please think about the timeframe here... most of the newly proposed packages will not become stable until PHP5 is widely adopted, and do we really want to encourage people to stick with PHP4 forever? I don't think so. Also, there are enough PHP4 template engines in PEAR already. Regards, Markus
