Hey, I know it's there, and thank the effort. It's just that if I'd go and write the guidelines now, there'd be little reason to use PEAR_Error or PEAR_ErrorStack. That's the kind of argument I've seen in the mailing list and is missing in the wiki page. Your pitfalls will make great advices on correct usage of exceptions, but don't really make the case against exceptions. They show how exceptions are sometimes misused.
Yeah, some of that text was mine too & I clearly have strong favoritism for exceptions -- so it's not really disadvantage text :) I haven't yet found problems that can't be solved with a reconsideration of code design, but I imagine others have & hopefully can contribute them to the wiki. Hans
