Absolutely agreed. Maybe we should have made sure that old bugs get picked for this report. However beyond that there was little that could have been done with any reasonable effort to make these reminders any better than what we got. Now its obvious that those people who are very active got the most annoyed by this. However I guess we hoped that those people who know their open bug reports would not take this personal. We do have however open bug reports that have lingered for ages and we do have a QA RFC which specifies that we have to send out reminders before taking actions. Anyways in the end we are trying to help. Your criticism will ensure that we will in the future be a bit mor elegant and focused when we do.

I believe that the QA team should concentrate on other things in order to be usefully to PEAR. They should be testing new releases and monitoring CVS. Suggesting improvements to code and spotting bugs. They should be the onces opening the bugs not reminding us of it.

Uhm a good share of the open bug reports have been opened by QA.

Am seeing PEAR grow more and more beurocratic lately. For my recent updates on auth most of the feedback I got was related to CS. I know it is important but I think quality of code should come first and this is where people should concentrate.
