There will be other measures to address that issue.Exactly. That's the problem when your packages are used by other people, you get bug reports. And the more you fix bugs, the more your packages are used. And the more you get bugs reports. And now, the more you get useless reminders... I can give you some examples of packages in PEAR that are full of bugs and have no bug registered. What will QA do about them ?one per package I assume ?
No It didn't piss me off but it probably pissed off all the subscribers to the PEAR lists. If that makes you happy...Feel free to blacklist me if this will contribute to stop the avalanche of asinine comments from your developers (Alexey). In fact I just sent some reminds for legitimate bugs- 1 per package With one of his sight of genius he forwarded everything back to not one but two lists (not just me but the whole lot of pear-dev and pear-qa subscribers).Did this piss you off ? If yes, I am glad it did. Now you can imagine what some of us felt when we received your reminders.
sure, here is is an example http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=1827 this bug was fixed and a new release rolled today. Would the developer have fixed the bug without the remind? certainly so but a friendly remind probably helped. It makes the package better indirectly. If a bug get fixed then the package quality will certainly increase. Cheers David CostaPEAR is not a game for rebel teenagers. It takes two to tango on the respect game and in this very moment I don't really want to care about what might annoy his email but I am more concerned about PEAR users and PEAR quality.Do you really think your reminders will help make our packages any better ? If yes, please explain because I don't understand.
