David, maybe you were full of good intentions when you tackled these notifications, but apparently it was the wrong approach or it wasn't fully thought over. I think the complainers have a point there, although they lack a decent tone to phrase their comments.
That's the whole issue the lack of decent tone, nothing else.
On the other hand, your somewhat self-righteous attitude isn't helping here either, nor is this email from someone who should've known, when to keep yourself from a heated argument, especially when you insult people as prima donnas. "Si tacuisses, philosophus mansisses", right?
excuse me ? ;) I am no prima donna. I replied to Alexey's insult that is true when I should have probably ignored the sarcasm. Just sometimes it is good to tell what you think. And in this case I think he was overreacting.
Maybe the lesson here is to step back, think over and redo that process of prodding developers - IMHO QA should be as unobtrusive as possible but insistent like hell with _urgent_ matters on the other hand... I still think that 1 email per package isn't that annoying. Clearly the manual process displeased some of our developers and I did apologized for that.
I think there should be a severity list for each developer like "Don't bugger me, unless..." and that QA should obey to that :-P It was probably a mistake to send one remind per package even for recent bugs but I didn't expect this outcome.
Anyway, I think I clarified all I could. Best Regards David Costa
