I would like to announce that I am steeping down from my position as member of the pear-group and member of the pear qa core team.

I was very shocked to read that you are considering (or have already decided) to step back from PEAR government. I think that your leaving would be accutely felt by everyone involved with PEAR. I'm sure your decision has nothing to do with recent on-list disagreements, but I'll say anyway that I respect and admire your role in this community. In my mind you've always been the voice of PEAR leadership that stood out strongest, and I admire how you've always sought to reconcile division. PEAR faces great challenges ahead & I think you're role in the community is invaluable. And you have done a superb job defending the merits a long-term, coherent vision of PEAR from whiners like myself who have little respect for the status quo. I think PEAR would be a much better place if you stuck around, but good luck in whatever path you choose. Hans
