Perhaps at this stage a perspective from a PEAR average user, non-geek, non (yet)-contributor is in order. (to me) 1. the PEAR library is excellent, invaluable in economics terms 2. the PEAR library is well maintained 3. the PEAR library is well documented. 4. the PEAR user mailing list is extremely valuable 5. Would the PEAR effort cease abruptly today, I would continue to use PEAR for as long as I can 6. A bit of disagreement on standards from time to time is inevitable. As Chancellor von Bismarck once said, lawmaking is like sausage-making: [the result is good but] better not watch the process. 7. Lukas's departure will certainly be a great loss.
