I agree totally. A good example is the Payment_Processor module. A lot of the drivers I have written support more advanced features (reoccurring billing, redirection, etc.), but those don't fit into the simple structure we outlined when Ian and I really started hammering out the API. We wanted to cover 90% of what people would be doing really well and let the other 10% either send in patches or hack around our deficiencies. I think that we should define a standard set of API calls and then allow driver authors to make their drivers as feature rich as they want from there. Who's writing up the proposal? --Joe
