well work is a good argument. i do however see significant value in having it in, but since i am not doing the work i better not complain :-) or is there a way to determine the state without installing and without a remote lookup? pear info foo.tgz (/me goes to RTFM) maybe? even then i really liked the passive way the state would be conveyed in all steps .. in the download, in the tgz name etc. generally i think we cant mention the state too often. regards, Lukas
