hmm I only read half of the mail ...
the wrapper is indeed a good idea.
(PS: I can't find who spoke about dh-make-perl : i really want to write such
a thing, but it's independant of pear, and we cannot expect users to be
smart and to use it on their own.
whereas we can document a pear makedeb option very well and expect the user
to actually use it.)
well, I'll talk of all the good Idea you have with other debian maintainers.
and I hope we'll find a good solution to this ;D
btw, /usr/bin/pear is already a wrapper in debian
