People come up again and again and tell us that it keeps people
away from contributing because our coding standards are to
strict. Should we ignore them and miss some probably great
contributions?

Well, I can actually see some core developers of PEAR that
are contributing to this discussion. BTW: I also think that
this discussion isn't the most interesting thing to do, but
it seems as if it has to be done.
