To use PEAR_Exception (or Exceptions in general) it would have to be
use PHP5 syntax which would make it not PHP4 compatible. These
packages were written for PHP4 and many of us are still using PHP4, so
until Lukas decides to make a PHP5 version of MDB2 I doubt it will
support Exceptions.
