Somehow I don't like this and I don't know any good way to go around it either. Making it work on PHP4 will need to make all properties into "var", and this will make PHP5 barf when using E_STRICT. Did PEAR make any decision on this? If PEAR doesn't accept PHP5 only packages it will be problematic using those from PHP5 while using E_STRICT. regards, Robin
