I my self see nothing wrong with what you did, but usually preferred
that people announce they will call for votes after X days, allowing for
some discussion or something ...
My advice to you so you get less noise like this next time, move to
proposal, wait 3-4 days, email about call for votes (say, that it will
start after 7 days) and then do cfv. or skip the first waiting and
announce it right away, that way there shouldn't be much noise.
Anyway just bare this in mind, it isn't mission critical or anything,
specially in cases were people know the proposers from past packages/ext
or such.
