John Jawed (http://pear.php.net/user/johnjay) has commented on the proposal for Web Services::PayPal
Services.
Comment:
A bit of inactivity here since I was investigating Clay's suggestion to try
to integrate PEAR::SOAP into this package. IE, use PEAR::SOAP if it is
installed else use ext/soap, and/or vice versa.
After looking through the PEAR::SOAP, I have decided that integration
would be a better off left as a TODO item. It's very time consuming to
essentially fork my classes into trying to use PEAR::SOAP.
Furthermore, it's also repetitive since PayPal already has a PHP SDK based
on PEAR::SOAP. Because of these reasons, I have decided it is a better use
of my time to stick with the original dependencies (PHP5.0.5>=,ext/soap).
I want to get this to votes ASAP, but if people feel differently about my
decision of leaving PEAR::SOAP out of the package before voting, let me
know.
PEAR::SOAP isn't being taken out of consideration altogether, it's
integration will become a TODO item. Right now, I think it's better to get
the package out there sooner than later.
For those interested in the PayPal PHP SDK, you can fetch it here:

John
