I checked it and it sounds really interesting, although the api is far from being complete it's a very promising start.
I think I could help writing some drivers, but it would be better to propose them as sub-packages to keep
fb2 versioning easier wouldn't it (like what's planned with Structures_Datagrid).
As I said before I really don't have enough knowledge/practise to give some advice from this point, but telling trivial stuff, such as why not use abstract classes for datasource, element, field, renderer.php as you already use exceptions, which means PHP5 ... make register methods in the main class (for external field, element, datasource, renderer classes) ... implement a setElementTypeMap method in the datasource 'abstract' class, or in the main class (for now hardcoded in FormBuilder2_DataSource_MDB2::generateFields()).
I'll check regularly the online source code in case you make some changes.
So definitely yes, let me(us) know when it's ready enough to collaborate on it, whenever you define a roadmap or something, setup a CVS etc ...
