Re: Mission Statement Brainstorming

One is too get a document that describes a mission for PEAR that we can all get behind. Something you can point people at when they ask What is PEAR?

Here is my attempt at a mission statement: PEAR is a team of PHP developers who promote better PHP coding practices by providing high quality, well maintained, reusable packages. The PEAR team also strives to create an environment which empowers new developers to write better code through mentoring and peer review. The first sentence is what we are already doing. The second is something that I would like to see become more of a focus for PEAR. Without trying to improve our team, we will just fade away over time. Scott Mattocks
