Hi all, In the quest for ever-greater accountability and encouragement to excel, I've added another interesting statistic to the website: developer bug fixing stats. The information page for a developer (like http://pear.php.net/user/cellog) now contains bug fixing rank and # of fixed bugs, average age of all open bugs in packages the developer maintains, the number of open bugs, and the number of bugs from all bugs in all packages maintained by the developer that are assigned to that developer. The bug fixing rank links to the bottom of the bug statistics page, which is an ordered list of developers ranked by the number of closed bugs assigned to their handles The package information page contains simply the ranking, and this information can be used as another metric to quickly determine whether the developers maintaining a package are active or not. Helpful hint: if you know you have fixed bugs and your ranking is quite low, simply find them in the bug database, and mark the "assigned" column with your handle. These statistics do NOT include feature requests, similar to the package bug statistics, and this won't be changed, as the purpose is to document fixing of bugs rather than implementors of features. Thanks Greg! ... Ah, there we go. From #35 with 6 bugs to #5 with 68 bugs. Nothing compared to you, of course, and I suspect I won't stay there long. I find it very likely that many people didn't assign bugs to themselves before closing, as I did. I always saw assigning a bug as a declaration of who *would* be fixing it, not a record of who *fixed* it. As the sole active developer on my main package I had no need to set it until now. ;-) -- Justin Patrin
