Hi Stephan,
with the update for API 2.0, I think the package is just about finished. Testing would be very
welcome.
There are two things up for debate:
- I always use file() to do a HTTP request, but this requires allowing URLs which is a php.ini
setting; it could be desired for PEAR classes to use another mechanism, like a downloader class? I
don't know if PEAR has a policy about this.
- I now depend on SimpleXML to inspect the response XML, but similarly, there might be another
policy for parsing XML.
The only missing piece at this moment is the returncodes for "dance" and
"nabcast". Since Nabaztag.com always returns NOTAVAILABLE and does not have documentation,
I have no idea what to expect as a successful response. I just have no way yet to test for a
successful or failed response, so to be forward-compatible these two method calls will always seem
to succeed. I hope to get a good answer to my support request about this.
I'm now going to use the class for some applications (I'll add them to the examples if
appropriate, one can be found at http://tmp.lfms.nl/nabaztag/current/_examples/newmail.phps).
Barring any unexpected problems, I'm hoping to put out a call for votes soon.
Kind regards,
WH
