Well looking at the semi official todo list it looks like I did not remember the decision correctly: http://oss.backendmedia.com/PhP60 "deprecate ext/ctype in 6.0 and move to pecl in 6.1 in preference of unicode replacement functions (andrei)" That being said ext/filter does provide a lot of functions that cover more or less what ext/ctype provides and its bundled. regards, Lukas
